Add 습니다/ㅂ니다

This polite expression is used when we are in formal settings, or to someone we are not familiar with. The rule is adding 습니다 or ㅂ니다 right after the verb stem or the adjectives.

* Type 1: add 습니다 (if ending with consonant)

* Type 2: add ㅂ니다 (if ending with vowel or the consonant ㄹ)
1. 실례하다 : 실례합니다 : Excuse me!
2. 감사합니다.
3. 건너다 : to cross; to go (pass)
