Formal (part 1) (으)세요; and (으)십시오

1. verb stem + (으)세요
- Usage: request, command someone to do something.
- Examples:
 • 기다리세요. (기다리다: to wait)
 • 여기 앉으세요. (앉다: to sit)
 • 이 커피 드세요. (먹다: to eat, Honorifics form)
- Rule: If the verb stem ending is
 ♦ a vowel: just add 세요
 ♦ a consonant: add 으세요
2. verb stem + (으)십시오
- Usage: request, command someone to do something. Same meaning with (으)세요 above but little more polite. (으)십시오 is used in formal settings, or to someone you do not know very well.
- Examples:
 • 주소를 쓰십시오. (주소를 쓰다: to write an address)
 • 상자를 여십시오. (열다: to open; dropped ㄹ)
 • 끈으로 묶으십시오. (끈으로 묶다: to tie with a string)
- Rule: If the verb stem ending is
 ♦ a vowel/ㄹ: add 십시오. Remember drop ㄹ.
 ♦ a consonant: add 으십시오

2. 여기 읁으십시오. (more polite)
